Online
gambling crackdown puts poker world in limbo
Greg Raymer, whose $160 entry fee in an online poker
tournament led to a $5 million win at the 2004 World
Series of Poker, says it's hard to tell how a federal
crackdown on online gaming will affect WSOP entries
this year. But he's a gambler. If he had to bet, he'd
figure on a sizeable drop.
"If I was actually putting a number to bet on, I would
say more like somewhere in the low 5,000s (this year)," Raymer
said by phone from his home in Raleigh, N.C. "If you

There are various forms of poker bonuses available. Though the strategy of giving away these bonuses according to Big Edge Poker is on the exclusive decision of the website regulators, one of the most popular forms of these rewards are welcome bonuses. For example, if someone registers at PartyPoker, he is entitled to receive a certain amount of money on registering with the website.
Consider a scenario here – suppose a player registers with PokerStars net and transfers $50 from his bank account, and the website offers a 100% welcome bonus, the player will see a credit of $100 in his poker account on the website. The other forms of bonuses include bonuses without depositing money, which works well on a site like PartyPoker.net that doesn't require you to deposit money to play.
These bonuses are known to be a really helpful way to give the customer a chance to test his skills at the game beyond his financial limits, while also boosting his self-confidence. However, there are certain limitations to the money that is seen here. It can only be used for playing purposes in the game, and may not be withdrawn to the player’s bank account.
